Cisco does support Windows 8.1 with their AnyConnect VPN client. However, some users may run across the following error message:
The solution is to change the Cisco AnyConnect client to run in "compatibility mode". The steps are:
- Right click the AnyConnect client by the clock and select Quit
Open Windows Explorer to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client"
- Right click vpnui.exe, Properties, Compatibility tab, and set to use Windows 8
