Description: Identifies the steps to setup email on your Android mobile device to synchronize mail, calendar, and contacts with the CSULB email service.  Android steps for native mail apps vary depending upon manufacturer and software version.  If the steps below aren't successful, please consult your carrier support documentation.

To remove your University provided email from your Android device:

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Email icon. 
  2. Tap the Hamburger (three parallel lines)
  3. Tap the Gear
  4. Tap the email account you want to remove
  5. Tap Remove
  6. Confirm

To add your University provided email to your Android device (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S8):

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Email icon. 
  2. If you have an existing email account set-up on the device, tap the Hamburger (three parallel lines).  If this is the first email account for configured, skip to step 4
  3. Tap the Gear 
  4. Tap Add New Account
  5. Enter full Email Address (e.g.
  6. Enter BeachID Password
  7. Tap Manual Setup
  8. Tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
  9. Enter the following:
    1. Domain/username: full Email Address(e.g.
      1. Do not enter a domain.  Some previous configurations would accept campus-domain/
    2. Password: BeachID password
    3. Server:
  10. Tap Next
  11. Tap OK on when prompted for Remote security administration 
  12. Tap Next
  13. Tap Activate Account
  14. Name the Account and tap Done
