This is a phishing attempt first reported to CSULB ITS on December 10, 2018.

Subject: Instant payment received


The fraudulent email claims that the recipient has received payment and advises the user to download and open the Word Doc attachment/link provided in the email. This attachment/link may have a malware virus.

Intent of the Email

This may be an attempt to acquire personal account credentials and/or install malicious malware.
