This is a phishing attempt first reported to CSULB ITS on February 20, 2018.

From:  Juan Alonso
Sent:  Tuesday, February 20, 2018 9:21 AM

The fraudulent email comes from a compromised CSULB employee email account.  It claims to be from Microsoft and requests to click on a link to verify your mailbox to avoid deactivation.  CSULB never asks employees to click on a link to verify their email account or campus provided Microsoft services, and services are only deactivated upon separation from the University.

Intent of the Email

The phisher/sender is attempting to capture email account credentials for their own malicious purposes.
