This is a phishing attempt first reported to CSULB ITS on May 24, 2017.

Subject:  1 New Important Message From CSULB

Summary

The fraudulent email is sent by a CSULB email account that has been compromised.  It requests recipients to click on a link that goes to a fraudulent page which looks like the Outlook Web App email log in page.  As a precaution, the link has been blocked from anyone on the campus network from accessing it and it has been reported to the web host company that is hosting the fraudulent page.  The CSULB account is being addressed through our normal security processes.

Intent of the Email

The sender is attempting to capture personal account information for their own malicious purposes.
