This is a phishing attempt first reported to CSULB ITS on April 12, 2016.

Subject: Mailbox Helpdesk

Summary

The email informs recipients to click on a link to log in to their email account for maintenance and updating their mailbox.  The link takes users to a fake login page, which has been blocked by some web browsers such as Internet Explorer.  CSULB performs monthly maintenance on mail servers and does not require users to log in to their mail for any reason.

Intent of the Email

The sender is attempting to capture personal and account information for their own malicious purposes.
