Subject: REYFIELDS INVESTIGATIONS
Email purporting to be from one Michael Reyfields of Reyfields Investigations claims that he is looking for the possible next of kin of a man who died intestate leaving unclaimed investments with the HSBC bank.
Intent of the Email
The email is an advance fee scam. While there is a real UK firm with a similar name, the email did not come from them. The scammers hope to entice you into replying. If you do reply, you will be asked to pose as the deceased man's next of kin in exchange for a large portion of the man's funds. But, if you agree, the scammers will claim that you must first send money and personal information before the 'deal' can proceed.
